Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 4 August 2026

These Terms & Conditions govern the courier and cargo services provided by Sagar Air Express (“we”, “us”, “our”). By requesting a quote, handing over a shipment, or otherwise using our services, you (“the sender” or “you”) agree to these terms. Please read them carefully before booking.

1. Quotes and charges

Quotes are based on the details you provide and are estimates until the shipment is received and assessed. The final charge is calculated on the greater of the actual weight or the volumetric (dimensional) weight of your parcel, together with the destination, service level, and any applicable surcharges. If the weight, dimensions, contents or classification differ from what was declared, charges may be revised accordingly.

2. Payment

Charges are payable before dispatch unless we agree otherwise in writing. Where a shipment attracts additional fees after booking — such as remote-area surcharges, re-weighing, customs charges or return costs — these remain payable by you.

3. Prohibited and restricted items

You must not send items that are illegal, dangerous or restricted, including but not limited to hazardous or flammable materials, weapons and ammunition, narcotics, counterfeit goods, currency, and any item prohibited by the origin or destination country or by our carriers. We may refuse, hold, or hand over to the authorities any shipment that appears to breach this clause, and you remain responsible for any resulting costs.

4. Restricted goods: medicines, food, liquids and fragile items

Certain goods — such as medicines, food items, liquids and fragile articles — can only be sent where the product, quantity, packaging, documentation and the rules of the destination country allow. These are carried at the sender’s risk. We do not accept responsibility for spoilage, leakage or breakage in transit, and we cannot guarantee acceptance or clearance by destination customs. Where a shipment is refused or returned by customs, related return and duty charges are payable by the sender or receiver.

5. Customs, duties and taxes

International shipments are subject to inspection and clearance by customs authorities. Any duties, taxes or charges levied at the destination are the responsibility of the receiver (or the sender, if the receiver does not pay). You authorise us and our carriers to act as needed to complete customs formalities on your behalf. We are not liable for delays, storage, or refusal arising from customs processes.

6. Documentation and KYC

You must provide accurate and complete shipment information and any identity, KYC or supporting documents required for lawful export and customs clearance. We are not responsible for delays, returns or non-delivery caused by missing, incorrect or incomplete documentation.

7. Packaging

You are responsible for packing your shipment securely and appropriately for international transit and for labelling it correctly. We can advise on packing, but we do not accept liability for damage resulting from inadequate packaging. Professional packing is recommended for fragile or high-value items.

8. Pickup

Door-to-door pickup is available in selected serviceable areas. Bulky or heavy cargo may attract labour or handling charges. Where a pickup is arranged and then cancelled by the sender, a cancellation charge may apply.

9. Inspection

We and our carriers, and the relevant authorities, may open and inspect any shipment without prior notice for security or customs reasons. We cannot guarantee that original packaging will be restored after such inspection.

10. Delivery times and delays

Any delivery timeframe we quote is an estimate only and is not guaranteed. We are not liable for delays caused by customs, carriers, weather, incorrect addresses, remote destinations, or other factors beyond our reasonable control.

11. Undeliverable shipments and returns

If a shipment cannot be delivered — for example, due to an incorrect address, refusal by the receiver, or unpaid duties — we will attempt to contact you and may return, hold, or dispose of the shipment. Return, storage and handling charges are payable by the sender, and any proceeds from disposal may be applied against outstanding costs.

12. Insurance

Basic carriage is provided on a limited-liability basis. Optional transit insurance may be available on request and is subject to its own limits and terms. For valuable or fragile consignments we recommend arranging appropriate cover before dispatch.

13. Liability and claims

Our liability for any loss or damage is limited to the extent permitted by applicable law and any relevant international convention. Any claim must be made to us in writing within three (3) days of delivery or of the scheduled delivery date. Claims made after this period may not be accepted. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.

14. International conventions

Where a shipment is carried by air or road across borders, liability may be governed and limited by applicable international conventions (such as the Montreal or Warsaw Conventions for carriage by air, or the CMR for carriage by road), including their limits based on weight and declared value.

15. Your warranties and indemnity

By handing over a shipment you confirm that the information you provided is accurate, that the contents are legal and permitted, that the shipment is properly prepared and labelled, and that you are authorised to send it. You agree to indemnify us against any loss, claim, fine or cost arising from a breach of these terms or from the contents of your shipment.

16. Circumstances beyond our control (force majeure)

We are not responsible for failure or delay in performing our services due to events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, extreme weather, war, civil unrest, strikes, government action, carrier disruption, or inherent defects in the shipment.

17. Routing and handling

We may choose the routing and handling of your shipment, including consolidation or repacking where necessary, without prior notice. Any special routing requested by you may attract additional charges.

18. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising from them or from our services is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Delhi, India.

19. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The version in force at the time you book applies to that shipment. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
